Sterling Ranch is proud to be part of a bold new vision shaping the future of Douglas County—the Zebulon Regional Sports Complex. This exciting partnership with Douglas County aims to create a mega sports complex that meets the growing recreational needs of our region. Proposed features include ice rinks, a skill pad, basketball courts, pickleball courts, dome covered baseball and soccer fields. It will also include a wildlife corridor and dedicated open space, plus retail and entertainment—making Zebulon a destination for athletes and families alike.
We’re especially excited that our very own President, Brock Smethills, is helping lead the conversation alongside Douglas County Commissioner Abe Laydon. As Brock explains in the newly released video, Zebulon represents more than just a physical place—it’s a mindset focused on collaboration, innovation, and long-term community benefit. “It’s really going to be a hub for entertainment, and a recreation district for the entire county” Brock shares. “People wanted open space and parks and we are happy to partner with the county to deliver that for the electorate.”
