On July 26, Sterling Ranch residents and community members gathered for a momentous occasion: the ribbon cutting and official opening of Prospect Park a state-of-the-art all-abilities park designed to be fully inclusive. This beautiful new addition to the Sterling Ranch comunity is more than just a park — it’s a place for gathering, wellness, and connection, reflecting the spirit of Sterling Ranch itself.
The timing of the opening was especially meaningful. Prospect Park debuted on the 35th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), a landmark civil rights law that prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities. The ADA has transformed lives across the nation by ensuring access, inclusion, and equal opportunities in public spaces—making Prospect Park’s accessible design all the more significant.
The ribbon cutting drew a wonderful turnout, with families, neighbors, and community leaders coming together to celebrate the park’s official unveiling. Smiles, laughter, and applause filled the air as the ribbon was cut, symbolizing the start of countless new memories that will be made here.
Prospect Park itself is an intentionally-planned space, designed with input from Sterling Ranch residents. The Inclusive playground is made for children (and grown-ups!) of all abilities to play together. The park also includes a multi-purpose turf field and band shell, perfect for youth soccer, concerts, and movie nights. With accessibility at the forefront, the park embodies our commitment to building spaces where everyone can thrive.
And this is just the beginning. Future phases of Prospect Park include even more outdoor amenities, such as picnic areas for family gatherings and community events, shade structures for comfort on sunny days, basketball and volleyball courts to encourage active participation, and an accessible, resort-style pool where everyone can enjoy a refreshing swim.
