Sterling Ranch is a unique master-planned community located 20 miles south of downtown Denver and nestled against the beautiful Colorado foothills. When designing Sterling Ranch, we committed to smart, sustainable growth, a goal that included taking care of wildlife living in the area.

As we build out our second and third neighborhoods — Ascent and Prospect villages — we are championing animal welfare by preserving wildlife corridors and open spaces. Thanks to these efforts, animals can continue living in their natural habitat undisturbed while our residents enjoy living close to (and in harmony with) nature. This commitment will be followed through the development of all future villages as over one-third of our land has been preserved as open space.

Living in harmony with nature

Have a look at what living close to nature and wildlife means to our residents:

They find peace while bird watching

Finches, swallows and elusive bald eagles — our residents absolutely love observing these beautiful creatures in their natural habitat. Thanks to our partnership with the Bird Conservancy of the Rockies, we’ve been able to bring educational events right to the neighborhood, so those interested in learning more can expand their horizons when it comes to this fascinating activity.

They walk the many neighborhood trails

With miles of open space preserved here at Sterling Ranch, our residents are often seen biking, running and walking the plentiful trails weaving around the neighborhood. From taking work calls while on a walk to squeezing in a scenic jog after a long workday, the access to nature and beauty here is unparalleled.

They embrace backyard bliss

All Sterling Ranch homes back to, or are a short walk from, preserved wildlife corridors. Our residents enjoy wildlife sightings not only while walking the trails but even while sitting on their back porches sipping cocktails! A visit up Georgetown Street in Providence Village yields beautiful mountain views and occasional cow, horse and deer sightings.

“We found a couple of ‘Rattlers’ on the nearby golf course. We love lots of things here in SR! We love listening to the owls hoot at night and seeing the deer when they mosey on by. We also turn to our Birds of Colorado book often to see which ones are enjoying breakfast at our neighbor’s bird feeder.”

“We moved here . . . specifically because we wanted to be close to the outdoor opportunities available to us here. We love seeing the horse farm every time we ride into the neighborhood, hiking Roxborough or watching hawks fly over the trail outside our home.”
