A landmark for connection, recreation and inclusion

Introducing Prospect Park, a state-of-the-art all-abilities park designed to be fully inclusive. This new park embodies our commitment to creating a welcoming environment for residents of all ages and abilities. Prospect Park reflects a vision of inclusivity and community spirit, ensuring that everyone—regardless of physical or cognitive ability—can enjoy and participate in the recreational opportunities it offers.

“We are thrilled to be part of such a wonderful community in Sterling Ranch, and I was honored to be part of the task force for the new park,” said Sterling Ranch resident Tracy Hoel. “We live right down the street, and my daughter Caitlin will be able to be included and enjoy this all-abilities park. My grandsons, who live in the community as well, are so excited that we can all enjoy it together as a family and with all our friends and neighbors!”

A legacy of love and inclusion

Prospect Park is more than a playground—it’s a step toward a more inclusive world. Inspired in part by the life of Madison Mercedes Reynolds, the park reflects a broader vision: that all children deserve access to play, and all families deserve to belong.

Madison, a Sterling Ranch resident, lived with a rare neurological condition and used a wheelchair. Though her abilities were limited, she came alive with movement—on swings, boat rides, and walks. In her memory, the Reynolds family founded Miles 4 Madison to help other families experience the joy of inclusive play.

Through their efforts—and with the support of the Sterling Ranch community—this park came to life. It’s part of a larger movement, Every Park Inclusive, which aims to make inclusive design the standard, not the exception.

Prospect Park was built for everyone. It features spaces that support parallel play, where children with and without disabilities can engage side by side, fostering connection, empathy, and growth. Fittingly, the park opened on the 35th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act—a milestone in the ongoing work for access and inclusion.

Prospect Regional Park features

Prospect Park spans eight acres and offers a wide variety of amenities designed to be accessible to all. This vibrant space is a hub of activity and enjoyment for the entire community.

Sterling Ranch residents played a vital role in shaping the park’s design. A volunteer committee brought together parents, advocates, and individuals with firsthand experience to ensure every element was thoughtfully considered—from inclusive play structures to community gathering spaces. Their lived insights helped guide a vision of inclusion that could truly serve all ages and abilities.
